I listen to this and I wonder...
"Canon In Z" Original Classical Arrangement by Tay Zonday
why I wasn't born a musician.
And this, this is beauty in its purest form. :-) Each time I listen to this I imagine my fingers running over the piano keys..
Except that my woebegone skill can probably only reproduce 0.0001% of that. =P
Hehe.
Have a blessed Wednesday, people! :-)

Of Blacks, Internship and Christianity
Haha. Did some pretty fascinating readings on why blacks wanna marry whites, by Frantz Fanon.
It still happens, me thinks. I know sooo many darker-skinned friends who long for fairer-skinned partners. It was just common knowledge, before. Now, I understand the theory behind it. Haha! Doesn't that make life more fascinating?
I've gotten into a training programme for internship with AMG Media, which means I'll have to return to Malaysia 3 more Saturdays this year. Not that I mind, very much. =P My scholarship is extremely generous and the more trips I go back, the less I shop end of this year, I guess. Haha. Currently saving my money to shop end of this year! Although Joash claims it's the same thing, whether I spend now or spend later. Hmm. I beg to differ.
And ah, of Christianity. It's a puzzling thing, really. As Joash says, most people are just willing to let their cars drive without wondering how the car actually functions. But I, I wanna know how it functions. I've taken a step back from the "Christian world" that I know just to analyse what I've believed all these years. It comes with a price, really. I think many people view me as no longer such a "strong Christian", but at the same time I've found that this new attitude of mine has opened doors to others who are searching. When they come to me for advice, many times I tell them I don't have a "Godly" answer for them. Surprisingly, they are ok with it, I guess it's nice to know that there are other people searching too.
It's a rather slow and painful process, this searching. I was once told that once I find these answers, my faith will become powerful. Haha. No idea if such a day will ever come, but I'm pretty happy with where I am now, as compared to back to those days. Painful because I've received judgement from many Christians, judgements that I myself use to throw upon others back in those days. A taste of my own medicine, perhaps?
CP's coming tomorrow! :-) And Joash is coming during Haji! And I'm going back this weekend for the internship thing (they'll be selecting 8 interns out of 20 people at the end of 6 sessions. I don't know why I'm taking such a risk, but I think the training will be good :))
Cleaned my room for CP.. and also because I clean it once a week. Just a quick 10 mins and everything is back in order! I guess cleaning up Joash's HUGE workshop has put me in good stead for my tiny tiny room here. I would spend days cleaning his place and it would still be in a complete mess! Ok ok, fair enough, it's a workshop. Haha. =P
Yesterday I was mulling over the best way to go home in time for my training this Saturday (I only found out I was selected yesterday)... being so last min, the bus tickets for Friday evening was sold out, unless I took some 10pm one which would mean Joash would have to fetch me at 3/4am!, I had some rehearsals on Friday afternoon so I couldn't leave earlier, the plane tickets touched 100 SGD by night time.
Seriously considered taking a bus into JB and catching a flight from there... till I told my dear BF that awesome money-saving plan. "Just buy the direct flight from Singapore. I'll pay for it. Go here go there for what??"
:-D
Hahaha. And this is one of the reasons why I'm so in love with him. =P Time and again, I'm so glad we live on each other's money and not our parents. Haha. No way he can say that if his parents are still supporting him, and I wouldn't be able to shower him with my humble little gifts if I were still living off my mum.
Ok, on a side note the price dropped to 66 SGD today, I'm glad I waited one day. Haha. :-) Still very expensive, considering the fact that there are bus tickets as low as 15 SGD to return to KL. But better than 100 SGD!
And no, I didn't ask him to pay for it. =P It's the thought that counts!
We've been seeing each other for 2 years + now! :-) Time to get marrieeed... everyone asks how my LDR is going. It's going fine... apart from the fact that we miss each other so much it isn't really LDR at the rate we keep seeing each other. LOL. Skype sessions at night are fun though! Think I'll miss that when I'm back in PJ.. the novelty isn't there if I'm skyping him from PJ.
Will be going to Bangkok with family end of this year... hehe. Joash can't go, busy... Perhaps Christmas in Kuantan though, if I can convince him. ;-) There's something about Kuantan that I really enjoy... maybe cause I spent my first few years in Kuantan (although I barely remember it apart from certain memories)... just enjoy the thought of Kuantan.
Ok, I'll try to increase pictures in my blog. Zzz. Haha. Don't like photography. But I think I should, it's more fun.
Joash's aunty ain't doing so well, docs say anytime now.. :( Keep her, and her whole family in prayer.
God bless,
Jo

Home Sweet Home!
Hehe nothing beats home... or the people around home, rather. =P
Spent plenty of time with Joash! =P Got to wear my canggih new helmet to go riding ;-)
Went to a place called "The Hungry Hog" in Subang for a fantastic catch-up session with my beloved coursemates... battled heavy traffic for 1.5 hours, rounded the place 5 times looking for parking. Complained and complained about how much I went through just to eat some pork... till I ate the pork. :-O After that it was utter bliss and no more whining. hehehe! Had a good time with them, I miss having classes with them! We laughed our night away.. Haha.. NUS people ain't that much fun. *Sorry Andrea!*
Dropped by PKV's Malam Suai Kenal, got to meet some of my juniors, but mostly to see the people whom I've grown rather close to in PKV. :-)
Next week I'll be attending PKV's 60th Jubilee! And FES' jubilee too!
Today went for CF, talked a bit, left for a talk by AMG Media.. they're looking for interns! At first I thought I'll just drop by to listen a bit and leave early, but... the talk caught my interest that I stayed till the end and even stayed back to talk to friends after it. :-) Have to think about internship now.. hmm.. I've shot several emails out, but haven't gotten the answers I truly seek. Beginning to doubt I'll actually get the answers to my questions. Considering that my degree allows me to enter journalism/advertising/publishing/media - in the corporate world and none of these really appeal to me (I've always wanted to enter the academic line, if I had such a love for the corporate world I would have chosen something more 'concrete' like law/accounting/something more professional. But teaching, now that's my passion. And may as well teach something I truly enjoy!) I think I'll settle for journalism/publishing. Radio ain't so much my thing, sales and advertising definitely out!
I wouldn't mind trying out a theatrical company though, but I don't know what sorta opportunities I'll get as an intern. I was rather fascinated by today's talk because if we are chosen, we will be trained over a span of 6 Saturdays - in preparation for the actual internship. That's pretty cool.
I'm old!
I'm old!
I'm old!
Haha. Just stuff that keeps running through my mind. Internship, graduating, working - wow! I still remember my first day of school in year 1 and form 1 and uni!
Soon, I'll be riding around town in a leather jacket; next to a big strong man who belongs to me!! Hey, you only live once. ;-)
God bless,
Jo

:-O
Gah. I've never actually felt embarrassed/ashamed to be a Malaysian before.
Till last week.
:-|
Particularly because I've never been AWAY from Malaysia when our beloved government messes up big and makes stupid statements. So when it happens, being among fellow Malaysians, we just laugh it off and move on.
Buuut goodness I'm now in Singapore! And last week, a Singaporean showed me our MOE's latest faux pas.
Ok la, you probably know it by now. The guidelines on identifying the LGBT community and how parents should identify and 'arrest the problem' before it's too late.
My initial reaction was, "Gosh, that encompasses the majority of Singaporean men."
...
Not to mention that these guidelines have just managed to prove that we are regressing in a progressing world.
My Singaporean friends now look at me with pity and I squirm with embarrassment whenever they bring it up.
Now really, living in Malaysia ain't that bad. I love Malaysia quite a fair bit, and am excited in telling my friends places to visit in Malaysia.
*Waiting for the issue to cool down*
Really, it ain't that bad to live in Malaysia. :-)
Till last week.

Integration is the key?
Hmmm.
Plenty on my mind lately...
But am too muddled up in my mind to put them down in proper words.
Haha :-)
Huge dilemma. I wanna attend PKV's 60th anniversary.. but I don't know if it's too much travelling for one week :( Whether I can handle it.
At the rate I'm feeling, I think I'll just extend an extra sem in UM, since my convo will still be in Oct 2014, regardless of whether I finish in Jan or May. -__-
4 years for a bachelor's degree. Goodness. I should be graduating next year! Lowering my market rate ny.. haha.
Just a muddle of thoughts. :-)
Badminton tournament this Saturday! Hmmm representing USP - University Scholars Programme - some sorta elite dunno what programme la. So happens my sponsors for this stint in NUS put us under this programme.. maybe because we're scholars or something. Haha.
Minor joke before I leave:
Was talking to a Thai friend about Tiger* shows in Thailand. She looked puzzled, and said she's never heard of it. We said it's probably something else in the Thai language. However, she optimistically added that they had CROCODILE shows too! :-O :-O :-O
My Msian friends and I looked at each other in shock. Then we asked her what crocodile shows were like. *ngehehehe* I thought it sounded extremely exciting! ;-)
"Oh, it's a crocodile show.. the man will put his head in the crocodile-..."
HAHAHA. So, she meant real crocodiles. We were expecting something more... exotic.
Ah well. Lost in translation, as I like to say. With all of us Asians speaking English in our respective accents there's bound to be miscommunication along the way. =P
*Tiger shows - apparently a corruption of "Thai Girl" shows cause Thais can't pronounce their Ls properly. Google it up if you're up for roaring fun. =P
Ok, back to books,
Jo

NUS
Hehe.
Ok, I'm reluctantly blogging now. Just seem to lack the 'ooomph' to blog..
How's NUS/Singapore?
People here start studying in week 1/before Week 1.
:-O :-O :-O
My first few weeks in UM are usually spent relaxing/playing badminton/playing guitar/anything but study. True, I'll be behind in the books/readings but hey, so are the majority of my beloved coursemates. The only time I truly prepared for classes would be in my first sem, when as a noob you've no idea what's counted and what's not in your grades.
Here... guess what?
I'm actually going AHEAD of my readings! (Well I was initially few days behind in my first couple of weeks but I soon realised that people here don't work that way so I bucked up.) hahaha. Now I'm reading for weeks AHEAD! Because of the pressure. And the fact that I have no idea what to expect in classes/academically so I had best prepare myself in what ways I can.
The academic environment here is pretty good, plenty of places to study. I'm in University Town, the newest addition to NUS/most expensive place/exorbitant rates.. but hey, it's 50X better than the hostels in UM. Hahaha. I honestly think UM offers one of the worst hostels... overcrowded and small rooms. That being said, I've only seen UNIMAS and USM hostels.. but the other unis are less crowded/newer/hence more space/more human rights I guess.
Hmm. Lost my blogging ooomph.
Skyped with Elaine today! :-) She has officially survived orientation week in USM (although it sounds as if they weren't treated like prison inmates and were pretty lax about the whole thing) so she's officially a uni student now! *So proud of her.* Uni will be a fantastic experience for her! Planning to visit her and CP in Dec if I can, I've never actually had a real reason to drop by Penang and enjoy it.
Skyped with Joash too.. haha, we still message and call each other everyday... except that now we can't meet face to face so frequently. :-( As a result of that, I did a love language test today and my new love language is physical touch! haha. Used to be quality time (which was 2nd highest). Ah well, seeing him soon. And I did see him 3 weeks ago.. made an impulsive trip back to KL and gave my mum a pleasant surprise. But kinda lacked spending enough quality time with everyone during the last trip so I'm hoping my next one will be better.
Life here is... safe. Peaceful. I guess the fact that I only have to take care of myself here makes it kinda relaxing. Haha. Me, myself and I.
I won't say I miss home, I miss the people back home. If Joash and other beloved people were to be right here with me I won't pine for 'home' at all. Hahaha. ;-)
Church, I'm pretty happy with where I am. Joined a small home church cause I kept in contact with Ps. Ong since I met him a couple of years back, am glad I did! haha. Since that meets Friday nights, I'm free to explore churches on Sundays. And as I like to say, Ps. Low has given me permission to 'church-hop' since I'm not looking for a permanent church to stay here. =P Haha! I've been in contact with the in-laws, mum-in-law uses her iTalk card to call me. But I think we'll stick to Skype-dates soon.. wonders of the internet.
All in all, I'm happy here in NUS. It's been a fantastic experience thus far.. Miss my coursemates and uni-mates back in UM though, will be dropping by to see them when I'm back for my term break! =)
Off to bed now, God bless ya,
Jo

Daddy, you can let go now..
Crystal Shawanda's..
Except that my dad would never give me away at the aisle and I never told him he could let go on his death bed. Because I simply couldn't find the courage to tell him that. I've always been a coward and always will be I guess.
People tell me that they can never be like me, having the courage to go through what I did. Yeah trust me, back then it seemed like a horrid nightmare that you only read about in the papers.
But once it happens to you, you find that it just happens and there is nothing you can do about it except to wait for it to pass. Like my bro and I were talking about recently, he said people will always ask how you do it. Truth is, once it happens to you it's just something you have to endure, and it becomes yet another fact of life for you. Nothing courageous, nothing brave about surviving it because you didn't have to do anything. The only thing you can do is to commit suicide, and if avoiding suicide is considered courageous then I have nothing further to say.
Life's been a jumbled mess lately. Barely get enough sleep these days. Working my butt off giving tuition every single day before it stops for a few months. Worst thing about tuition is you still have to sit down and face your students and smile and teach them as properly as you can even when there's a storm going on in the inside of you. My music teachers used to release their stress on me when they were like that, and I vow never to let that happen to my preciously innocent students. I remember trembling when they started snapping about my mistakes and the mistakes would increase as my fear rose more and more.
Haha, can't wait till I've earned the right to be told "you can let go now"!
To another sleepless night.

The body's been acting up lately. Acting up in ways I can't control. Erratic sleep cycles, horrible nightmares (I had such a weird, peculiar & terrifying nightmare this afternoon that I myself can't believe it) and generally just the ability to sit around and do completely, absolutely nothing. Haha I'm not usually like that.
I'm even bringing my dad back to life in my dreams and in my dreams I know that he is supposed to be dead, so in my dreams I'm just waiting for him to stop walking around happily and to just die. -__- It's a horrible existence, to know that the beloved man whom you see walking around is going to die and you can't do anything about it. Vivid dreams...
According to my personality I sleep a lot when I'm stressed. Haha, what a weird personality trait eh? According to the DISC test, I have a 'S' personality. That pretty much makes me a loser and a victim when I'm at my weakest, and a peacemaker when I'm at my best. -__-
I supposedly don't work well under pressure and detest deadlines (who LIKES deadlines??) and will avoid conflict at all costs. Which is true, but then again, who likes conflicts?? Lol maybe other personalities don't fear conflicts as much as I do. It gives me a horrible dread in my stomach and I can't sleep.. My personality also states that I hate confrontations and cannot handle them well, friendly discussions work 100X better. I'm supposed to be a 'good listener' but I think I'm a horrible one. Haha.
I think the worst part about my personality is that I desire and thrive on steadiness and stability around me, and everyone knows that that is just not possible in this mean, modern world.
Personalities can change, and I think I'm changing. Hmmm. I think I'm developing a temper and I no longer help people as I did before. I still detest conflicts and confrontations and fear them with all my heart but I think most other people do too, so I'm not complaining.
After form 5, my school friends were talking about careers and what to work as etc. Then this friend said, "Aiyah we all think about money money and work work but Joanne will think of all the social work she can do in this world." Haha, looking back, that's how they perceived me. Which is pretty true, I had big dreams of helping the special children and the poor and ostracised people in this world. Somehow I lost that love for people... I haven't even once joined any social work service in UM although there are so so so many opportunities (reading to the blind, assisting them in activities etc). And I'm entering my THIRD year! I think I've become so hardened with life that I no longer feel like such people deserve help. My heart used to break when I worked with the Down Syndrome kids... now I don't even think about them anymore.
Gosh, maybe I'm just developing an evil personality.
Hahaha.
3.10am.

=)
And it has ended well, again.
Thank you, God. Despite my unfaithfulness the last semester, you brought me through it all.
5 As and 1 A-, CGPA remains a rocky 3.97. It'll drop with the next A- I receive though...
Surprisingly I got As for the subjects I was expecting B/B+ for, and shockingly received A- for a subject I was so confident I would get my solid A in. Felt a tinge of injustice there as it's a 100% assessment course, but I just accepted it and moved on without telling my lecturer whom I bumped into today in UM that he ruined my chances of a 4.0 result this sem. The world will always be bias, and I never ended up his favourite, and somehow other lecturers are fair even if they have favourites. Lol I'm ranting, aren't I? I'll stop!
Haha! I'm still extremely surprised at my grades though! =) As Joash said, it's fantastic despite all the challenges I underwent last sem, especially right splat in the middle of exams.
Few more things to settle and I'm set to go to Singapore.. Joash will be sending me off! As my mum and bro are working (I hafta reach on the 1st of August, Wednesday). Gearing up to work harder than I've ever worked before here if I want any hopes of maintaining my grades.. mmm... it'll be a big big challenge, but an exciting one!
Spent my past 2 days helping up with Joash's place, setting up some stuff.
Spent my weekend in Kuantan, ate non-stop cause the in-laws fed us nonstop.. very good break for the both of us, and good time of fellowship with the Low parents. :-) Forgot my purse (where's my mind lately!) so I had to rely solely on Joash for $$$... spurred me on to make my own living cause I like my freedom of spending without guilt! =P But he's generous, no doubt about it... too generous, eh? ;-)
Will be flying to Sandakan with CP next week just for the fun of it! =D Feel like doing some wild wild things, been too long since I've experienced the exhilarating adrenaline rush. Can't even recall the last time... -__- Probably my 15 seconds in a Zorb ball filled with water. Lol.
Missed Camp Cam this year due to various reasons... unsure if I'll ever get the chance to go again, but this was the risk I took when I decided against attending it this year. As they say, if I'm meant to go, I'll get a chance to go next time.
Am supposed to be in Jakarta next week for a tournament, but again I said no, with a tinge of sadness. Back then I would have jumped at the chance of a NATIONAL badminton tournament, what more an INTERNATIONAL one. But circumstances have changed, and I too must grow up. Those were the days when I saved up my yearly ang pau and pocket money to buy a racket worth a few hundred bucks.. Now I'm thinking of long term happiness and contentment, so I invest in different things.
All in all, life's been treating me pretty decently lately, and I'm darn happy with that!
God bless,
Jo

It's been an exhausting week...
Wrote one of the most honest emails I've ever written to a bunch of people whom I love and care about. The replies were surprisingly touching.
I guess I've refused to open myself up all this time whilst serving in PKV. Oh well, never too late, but when I'm back from NUS it'll be serving in a different way...
Anyway, I'll be going to Kuantan with Joash this Friday-Sun.. it'll be a good getaway for the both of us =) Think we both just need a break from life and a chance to really spend time with one another... looking forward to it!
I baked brownies with my besan (sis-in-law of Joash) today! Haha it was a fun time and also a lot of getting to know one another... I've realised that the perceptions we have of one another and those around us are perceptions of years ago.. when we were both teenagers, when she was unmarried, when Joash's brothers were just these older youth in church whom I never really got to know on a personal basis due to the age gap. That's one advantage of growing up! Haha. I now interact with my much older cousins and friends on an equal footing... it feels good.
One of my students fared poorly in her History paper... and her mom is panicking and calling me, worried that her daughter will slip into the depths of Fs when I leave for Singapore. -__-
If a sem in NUS doesn't set me too far behind in studies (can only transfer few credit hours), I wanna start teaching English Literature to SPM and STPMers next year. =D It'll be a huge commitment but it'll be worth it if it produces a deeper love for English Lit among Malaysians! I personally found it one of the most challenging and yet fulfilling subjects during my SPM and STPM years.
I do hope that my scholarship to study in NUS covers my necessities and leaves me enough pocket money to enjoy a bit... since I have to stop teaching tuition for the next few months..
If not enough I'll do my wifely duty and depend on Joash lah.
Haha! Should be enough...
The man has chased me to bed... =P
God bless,
Jo

Hello World
Blogging from Malacca now... currently in CPR (Committee Planning Retreat)... my Malacca house! Favourite place for small groups =P
3.39am... the entire house is sleeping save for 2 kaki footballers who drove off to the nearby mamak for Euro 2012. (I'm SO glad Joash isn't the kind of man who will make me a football widow! =P)
Anyway, as of the 20th of June, 1.31pm I finished my 2nd year as an undergrad student... such an amazing feat! Eh?? Won't you agree?
Haha.
If I thought I had had a tough semester, the 2 weeks of exams I endured was complete absolute purgatory (except that I felt I was suffering for the sins of others, not mine). Not so much the papers, although yes, they were tougher papers than usual. But hey, it's 2nd sem of the 2nd year, I wasn't expecting easier papers or else I would have absolutely zero respect for my degree! But it was the utter chaotic mess that my heart and brains were struggling with that I even had a relapse of my just-recovered flu, a very very rare occurrence and a sign of extreme stress.
I'm not sure if those 2 weeks were as tough/tougher than STPM exam days with dad dying or the recent exams, but the fact that it's even comparable speaks volumes. Nevertheless, I got through it, with Joash by my side of course. Some problems, we just CAN'T face alone. I would probably have sunk into the abyss of depression if Joash hadn't been there with me. Thanks dear! :-)
Suffice to say, a lot has happened recently, beginning with the 4th of June till now that my perspectives and values I have always upheld has undergone a massive earthquake that I'm scrambling to form a whole new me again.
The most important thing that I've learnt is to completely let go and trust God, because I'm powerless as a mere sinful mortal.
God bless,
Jo

Forget about my 5am post earlier, I'm ok already. :-)
Hahaha happily at home after having a horrible French exam.
Anyway, lately I've been undergoing a drastic chance of beliefs and values... it's been a very interesting journey, and one I don't regret. :-) Having Joash by my side helps a lot too =P
Am off to bed.

Splitting Headache
So bad that I can't believe it.
Coughing out phlegm.
Telling everyone I'm studying for my paper tomorrow but truth is I haven't even touched my French notes.
Life goes on.

Schoolfeed ---> ?????
Been hardly posting anything on Facebook lately, all the nonsensical apps on it got me fed-up long ago. So it's just been used to post videos to close friends and keep updated with my coursemates, post the occasional photo/allow myself to be tagged in photos, send/receive files from friends (easier than emailing).
Then along comes this thing where I *clicked* and SPAM, suddenly people all around are getting this thing called SCHOOLFEED from me... Mind you, I first clicked it because it looked vaguely interesting as a way to connect all Seaparkians. But that, I didn't expect.
Gosh, I've joined the ranks of FBians who post nonsense on the walls of everyone else.
:-(
My sincerest apologies.
I hereby promise never to click on such a thing again.
Haha, just a light post. Spent the whole day at Joash's place as he worked, had a good (late) with the mum-in-law! As usual she gave all her motherly advice... hahaha including telling Joash and I to get married quick! =P
Postponing Kuantan trip to end of this month...
Am off to home, the sayang is chasing me home... =)

Argh
I'm Sick :(
Haih feel pathetic. Guess this is my punishment for skipping the last 2 flu rounds.
Struggled to sleep last night.
Then got disturbed by all sorts of phone calls this morning, some of which I ignored and others which I answered.
Sick sick sick sick sick sick

Whee!
Kuantan trip soon!
;-)
Mum-in-law's birthday coming up...
:-)
Joash and I in some Japanese restaurant in the all-new Paradigm (It's been under construction for so many bany years I can't even remember when it started)! Our newest neighbourhood mall that's awesome... can't beat 1 Utama, but hey it's so near to home I can walk! (Ok, I'll probably take about 45 minutes to reach but hey, it's walkable! =P 1 U is walkable too but it'll probably take 1.5 hours. Haha.) And it has some outlets that 1 U lacks.. so they complement each other. :) If I were still in Taman Sea it would probably become the newest hangout place for us Seaparkians.. haha. I always did think that SMKTS lacked a good place... SS2 is like -__- for a hangout place. Haha. The Bandar Utama schools have 1U, Ikano, Curve, etc, DJ had (HAD) Atria... Us? SS2. LOL.
We did get horrifically lost in it though (especially when I went there with my CG - bunch of girls!), but I've got a feeling I'll know this place hands down by the end of June. Haha. =P Because about 6 floors are built UNDERGROUND, that means there is no phone line in the bottom half.. hmm. Explains why they took so many freaking years to dig! But oh well, nothing's perfect.
Anyway, I digress. That meal was belanja-ed by Joash's eldest koko.. Joel! Good meal, good fellowship. :) (I do wonder if I'll someday start calling him koko instead of Joel - the name I've called him since I was a kid. Hmm.)
Then that would mean I'll call Jared and Adele ko & jie! Oh my. Haha. Should have just called them that all these years.
Anyway, that's all for now, back to my final assignment, tata!

Good bye Year 2
That's it. I'm DONE with year 2.
I haven't slept the whole night. And I slept 2 hours yesterday. Oh, and the day before. Oh, and the day before before.
-__-
Hahaha. At least I have 3 assignments to show for it!
1 more due next week.
But I feel freeee. Cause I survived today!!!
Now it's 8.17am and I'm waiting for the office hour jam to clear before I go over to uni to hand in. Then coming back to sleep.
And of course, wake up for the final PKV meeting if I can. I will. I will. Will probably be late though. Haha.
Can't believe I'm still alive enough to blog!
=D
Can't believe I survived week 14 of my sem 2, year 2! Haha halfway through I thought I was not gonna survive, what with MASUM and training 3 times a week and assignments and freaking hard texts and readings.
Ok la, I know exam ain't over yet, but I usually consider the end of week 14 the end of sem. =D
Year 3, bring it on! (Though starting my 3rd year in NUS is a bit hmmm)
Till I catch ya next time!

Money Matters
Among all the CF camps I've attended, I only remember one thing that was shared. Yeah, after 8 years of CF camps, 7 in Taman Sea and 1 in UM. LOL.
I forgot who the speaker was, either Ps. Sandra or Annette... I think it was Annette. Or Sandra. Hmm. Annette, I think.
As usual, BGR was the 'in' topic, schooling years ma with raging hormones and blablabla.
The usual preaching about honour and remaining pure and mostly how we were all too young to be in relationships. Which I wholehearted agreed with at that age. (Lucky Joash!) Anyway, the speaker asked us for our opinions on when the 'right' time to date was. Various answers were thrown about, college, working, 17, 18 year old etc.
Then she gave HER answer. She said that the right age to date is when "you are no longer living on your parents money." And she elaborated further about how you wouldn't want your parents to pay for your boyfriends/girlfriends expenses, would you?
Funnily enough, I found myself disagreeing with her back then. Simply because I was really young, 13, 14 years old? And I couldn't imagine the working life just yet.
But when I started dating Joash, her words came back to me. After all those years! Haha. And I realised, yeah, I could not bear a relationship in which both our parents were supporting each other. Back then Joash was struggling to find his own living, and I only had my JPA to rely on (giving tuition and writing magazine articles only came about last year). But we'd both stopped taking money from our parents, and I guess it felt good to date on our own money.
So I guess, after all those years the only thing I remember has been put to good use.
=)
Oh! I remember one more thing, Ps. Sandra said she would not ask how many non-virgins there were among us because she didn't want to know.
haha. So I picked up 2 things after all those years in camps.
=P
Anyway, financially Joash and I are doing pretty/very well now, Joash especially. We've come a long way since we first started dating each other.. I remember our mamak sessions and how Joash used to look at the price on menus before entering restaurants. Haha! Nowadays... =P We had a fantastic dinner in Seoul Garden yesterday! And Chili's.. oh Chili's... The molten chocolate. Now he can treat his brothers and parents and my family and his select few fortunate friends to expensive meals.. ;-) And I do my own fair share of treating him to good meals. Hehehe.
Indeed, we've come a long way.
