Today went to watch a movie with Cp in 1 Utama. Earlier on, we had agreed on the movie 'A Series of Unfortunate Events'. She actually wanted to watch 'Million Dollar Baby', but she thought it was an 18SG movie. So, being the good girls we are(come on, we are pretty good =P) we settled on a small kids' show. Then.. when we reached the cinema we realised that 'Million Dollar Baby' wasn't an 18SG movie. Goodness knows what gave Cp that impression.
Lol! Anyway, she wanted to watch it then. I not knowing ANYTHING about movies just agreed readily. I'm not exactly the kind to look out for movies you know =P.
Well, it was a pretty good show. About a girl(okay fine, a woman) who wanted to be a boxer. The coach refused to train her at first(just because she was a girl and too old), but after the janitor convinced him, he agreed to be her coach.
Well, he worked her hard. After many titles, she went to fight for the World title. Or something like that, the highest honour a boxer can receive.
She was on her way to winning her title.. but her opponent played dirty. Punched her out AFTER the round was over. She fell, broke her neck on the chair her coach put out for her to sit on(resting in between rounds). Was paralysed from neck to toe. For LIFE.
Then she asked her old faithful coach to murder her(just pull out the oxygen supplying machine, she couldn't even breathe on her own). He thought about it.. and finally did it after she attempted to kill herself(biting her tongue, nearly bled to death before they stitched it up and bound her tongue to prevent further suicidal acts). Completely disappeard after that, no one ever saw him again.
Well, not exactly my favourite kind of movie. No happy ending. This show was.. reality. Not your happy happy kind of movie(the ending, that is). As the janitor said, you only have 1 shot in life. Some people die mopping, cleaning dishes their whole life. As for Maggie(the woman boxer), she could die in peace, knowing she had her chance in life and succeded.
I guess I disliked the show because it was reality. I couldn't live in a fantasy world during that movie.
Still, it's a pretty good show. Oh yeah, there were only ELEVEN people watching that movie. Probably because people don't usually watch 11am shows. Hehe.
You should watch that movie if you need to be brought back to reality. I know many out there are still in their own fantasy world.
As someone once told me, 'Welcome to the real world, people'.
God bless
