Wow.

Thats all my title says.

Wow.

The Opposition has taken 5 states. HISTORY. Barisan Nasional(BN) has lost the 2/3 majority... this is only the 2nd time it occurred, the first time in 1969(May 13, everyone remember that day?).. this time looks like they lost it, and 5 states.

There is a reason why BN won in the 1st ever general election, you know. They truly had a heart to make a better Malaysia.

But people believe that things have been coming apart lately.

The factors? There are so many factors you won't know which to believe.

Wow.

I really don't know what to feel.

I am surprised, shocked. But happy or sad? No, I'm confused.

In my earlier posts I said that I'm wary of the opposition.. now that they are in power of 5 states(Kelantan, Penang, Perak, Kedah.. including Selangor(my state!).. I don't know what to feel.

Will this help Malaysia?

Or did BN lose badly because people just wanted a change?

Did people vote rationally, or based on emotions?

I can only pray that these things will work out. That the opposition will somehow make life better, and not worse. People, remember that election is every 4-5 years. If the Barisan Alternatif(Opposition) does not perform, it's back to BN. But 4-5 years is a looong time if the rakyat suffers.

Whatever it is, today is HISTORY for Malaysia.

Never thought I'll live on such a historic day.

But how will life be like?

I'm feeling apprehensive about my future. And my country's future.

Are we finally moving forward?

Or did the rakyat just make an irreversible mistake?

I feel as if most of the rakyat faced this dilemma when they voted. They probably felt like they were playing a game of Risk and just decided to 'Risk it!'

Whatever it is, the rakyat have voted. And this is it, for the next 4-5 years.

Rakyat, it was YOUR choice.

Now I pray that it was the right one.

In a way, I'm thankful that the BA won all that they did, and not more. Their sudden sweep of 5 states is already a very shock defeat for BN, but I'm glad it stopped there. Remember, we don't know how they will rule yet. If they rule well, it is very likely that they will gain even more state and parliamentry seats next election.

If they don't, it goes back to BN. Imagine if they had won 2/3 majority.. no, it is too sudden a change. Let us see how they rule these 5 states first, okay?

In all their ceramahs many of them made big promises. If they fulfill nearly all(all would be amazing, but seems impossible) their promises, then the rakyat will know that they have made the right choice.

BN and BA have to rule really carefully now. Everyone will be watching. Especially the younger generation and the undecided ones this election season.

Just before my SPM results too..

3.31am now,
God bless,
Joanne
