Blessings

My parents are so cute lah.

Lol.

My dad's roommate is this super scrawny guy who refuses to eat and just complains, "Sakit, sakit, sakit (Painful, painful, painful)." And he wanted a pillow to hug, but hospital pillows are so hard and uncomfortable his body ached more after hugging one.

So dad suggested this brilliant idea of us giving him a nice comfy soft pillow.

Mum called me up and told me their mission to make that man happy. So I went around the house finding the softest/most comfy pillow I could find, testing each one by hugging them. Then I sunned the pillow I found (one of my favourite pillows and a costly one!) to.. I dunno, make it cleaner??

When we gave it to the man he just smiled (first time ever he smiled ever since we saw him!) gratefully, hugged it and went to sleep IMMEDIATELY. Haha, our worry that he would have rejected our 'gift' was all in vain.

Every time I walked past him and saw him hugging it I felt so glad for him. Nothing beats the feeling that you've helped to ease one's suffering, even if by the tiniest fraction.

Above all, I'm amazed at my parents. So cute lah they can think of these kinda solutions in times like these. Haha. :-)

Dad's currently under palliative care.. we used to hope it'll never reach that stage, but.. well, things happen.

Anyway, the support given has been amazing. Dad has talked himself hoarse over the past few days to visitors from all over. Some even visit twice a day! I'm really glad, because I kinda worried support would dwindle since they are currently churchless. But prayers, and unknown pastors, are emerging from nowhere. (However, NO ONE from our previous church, except those who left with us, bothered to contact us.)

There are worse cases out there, more suffering out there that I know of, so despite everything, I thank God for His mercies and blessings.

God bless,
Jo
