La Guitarra

As I was polishing my precious Raimundo a couple of days ago, my mum looked at me intently concentrating on my task and commented, "You very free hor."

My answer?

"Of course I am!" =P

Suffice to say, my Raimundo has been getting the proper attention and love it needs (and lacked throughout my last sem) the past few days. =) Playing on it, polishing it, more playing on it... I have yet to fully utilize and unleash its maximum wonderful power that my teacher can do so easily, but hey, I'm getting there slowly. =D It's been a steep learning curve ever since I first picked up the guitar in 2008, but the havoc of starting university has stunted the progress I was making on it. Will have a few months to catch up and polish up and most hopefully ace my grade 6 exam in August, but it's been a good few years with the classical guitar. 3 years? Considering my constant breaks in playing and lessons due to Kedah/STPM/Uni, I think it's going okay =)

Recently picked up acoustic guitar playing, it's a different world altogether from classical playing but I'm really enjoying the journey of learning. Although steel strings hurt BIG TIME when I lay off playing acoustic for a while. What can I say? I've been spoilt by my wonderful classical soft-string guitar... and also because I'm not willing to invest in a really good acoustic guitar which will hurt my fingers less I think. Not for now, I'm pretty much a noob on acoustic playing.

What I REALLY want to learn is fingerstyle after classical playing, but that's a long way more to go. Cause I wanna 'finish' my classical guitar education (in terms of exams, I know learning is a lifelong process) first. Haha! Few years time I hope..

My apologies if this post is mumbo-jumbo to you, just decided to give my blog a lil' bit of life. =D

God bless,
Jo

Haha I'm learning classical guitar now! What's a 'very fat' guitar like??

Thanks, you enjoy yours too ;-)
