Sprained Ankle..

During training last Sunday I sprained my ankle... doing an overhead tap lah... haiz... that was the first time I wore an ankle guard in a long time too! I went to buy one because I felt the ankle to be slightly 'loose' lately.. next thing I know I've sprained my ankle. I continued training though, because I know that these kind of injuries can only get worse later on.. so I trained for another 1 hour and 15 minutes.. towards the end I started to really feel the pain though. Thankfully, after some shuttle drills we just had to do lobbing.. hardly any leg movements, so didn't kill my ankle so much.

By the time I took off my shoe after training it was swollen.. a bit. But I could still walk around. By night time though.. I was crawling around the house. Literally. Lol! Monday.. Monday was one sad day.. I had to spend the whole day SITTING DOWN! Good thing about it was I didn't use up much energy, so I wasn't hungry at all! An amazing feat, if you ask me. =P In the evening my butt started to ache though, sat around too much. But I couldn't walk!

At around 10pm though I started experimenting-gingerly put some weight on my right foot.. after a while I could limp a bit. Well, it was an improvement. By this morning I could actually limp around, and now I can move with considerable speed as compared to few hours back.

Yep yep yep I should be back on court in no time at all! =)

As I said, it's an experience to have a sprained ankle.. such a common injury, yet it has eluded me all these years. It happened just right too, beginning of holidays, so I won't have to miss school. =)

Only thing is my right ankle looks pregnant.. it's so bloated up! Looks like I've got elephantitis...

P/S In an earlier post I wrote that I would be taking part in 4 events for sports day. Well, I changed the 400m event for 3000m. And won gold for 3000m, silver for 1500m and 800m, and bronze for 4 X 400m. =)
